The Labors of Hercules: A Brain Teaser Packaging Design

An Extraordinary Puzzle Game Inspired by Greek Mythology

Themed around the journey of Hercules and his famous labors, this game consists of four collections, each featuring three different labors. The puzzles progress in difficulty, providing a challenging and engaging experience for puzzle enthusiasts.

The design of The Labors of Hercules packaging is a testament to the creativity and attention to detail of the design team. The packaging features a stone-like design, symbolizing the strength and greatness of Hercules. The face of Hercules is prominently displayed, capturing the essence of the hero.

Each pack in the family is distinguished by a different color code, adding visual interest and making it easy for players to differentiate between the different collections. Accompanying each pack is a brochure with pencil sketches of the labors, providing additional context and information in multiple languages.

One of the most impressive aspects of this design is the puzzle itself. The challenge for the design team was to die-cut the puzzle's 4cm square tiles without leaving any marks, ensuring that players could not identify where each tile goes. This added an extra level of difficulty to the game, making it even more satisfying to solve.

The Labors of Hercules packaging is made from high-quality materials, including SBS 450 gsm paper. The production process involves 4-color printing and lamination, resulting in a visually stunning and durable packaging design.

The project, which took place in Athens, Greece, started in August 2016 and was completed in November 2016. Throughout the design process, the team conducted extensive research on Hercules, video games, apps, and packaging to create a design that truly captured the spirit of the hero and his labors.

The Labors of Hercules packaging design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2017. This prestigious award recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
